Explore, Sketch and Paint in Utah’s Redrock Canyon Country.

Create alongside Gregory Frux and Janet Morgan from a wilderness base camp in the comfortable month of October. One on one watercolor and oil painting, sketching and drawing instruction for five days in unique locations, fully catered and cared for by expert local hiking guide (and artist) Shawn Miller. 

Immerse yourself in the silent, lushly textured landscape of Southern Utah's canyon labyrinth. Escape Goats of Escalante, Utah is teaming up with Art & Adventures to provide a unique fun filled 4-night 5-day specialty tour within the Escalante Grand-Staircase National Monument. Base camp will be located in the seldom-visited areas off the famous Hole-in-the Rock Road. Guided hikes and art instruction in gorgeous settings such Broken Bow Arch, Sunset Arch,Harris Wash, Big Horn Slot Canyon, Cedar Wash Arch.

Hikes will vary from 2 to 5 miles round trip. Learn and work alongside two professional artists with over thirty years experience each. Gregory Frux is an expert in outdoor oil painting, Janet Morgan is an accomplished watercolorist, both are conversant in field sketching and they can provide individual instruction in various mediums at all experience levels. This trip will be a rich learning experience--  We will explore geology, plants, desert wildlife, and local history. All gear and transportation from Escalante to base camps and hikes will be provided, (tents, sleeping bags, pads, food). A packing list for personal items and an art supply list will be provided for each attendee.   

Dates for the trip are October 17th - 21st, 2016 . $1399.00 plus tax per person. Maximum trip size is 8 guests.
